Today's inspiration comes from a lovely photographer out of India – Sharon Nayak. I love the rich, beaded fabrics, and the heavy ornate jewels. If anyone watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night, I'm pretty sure some inspiration was taken from traditional Indian outfits such as these.

Kobi Levi and his Magical Shoes

I just stumbled upon the most amazing shoe designer! Kobi Levi has been working as a freelance designer since he graduated from the Bezalel academy of art and design in Jerusalem in 2001. He considers his pieces wearable sculptures. Most of his inspiration comes from outside of the shoe world. His creations definitely prove artistic inspiration can come from anywhere if we keep our eyes open to the world around us.

Ring of fire

I grew up in a small town, and have since shed my 'country-ish" roots and love living downtown in one of the biggest cities in the country. I found these great boots for $15 at a second hand shop though, and they inspired me to go back just a little bit....

Iris van Herpen X United Nude Crystallization

I am very slowly getting back into real life. It may have only been 9 days, but an amazing 9 days it was running around Costa Rica. If anyone is looking for a place to vacation, it has a lot to offer. I have pages more I could write, but will save it for my travel blog I hope to soon have up and running. I haven't done anything to the page yet, but hopefully soon you can learn more about Costa Rica here.

So as I adjust, this post will be short and sweet. I am a huge fan of United Nude. And I absolutely LOVE these shoes. Coming in at around $1000.00 US they are not Frugal Fashionista material, but it's all about the inspiration and knowing trends and what's out there. In their own words...The Iris van Herpen X United Nude product is a glamorous ankle bootie with smooth round lines and golden leather detailing on the front and back of the shoe, with three-dimensional characteristics. Transparency, reflections and movements create the effect of visual estrangement. The construction of the shoe is so complicated and precise that each pair is 100% hand-made with the highest grade Italian calf Nappa available.

Mix it up

This will probably be my last post for about a week and half or so. I'm jetting off to the (hopefully) warm and sunny skys of Costa Rica on Saturday morning. Today I decided to try mixing up prints in my outfit. I think keeping the colour palette to a simple black and white, helps tie everything together. Ciao!

November 1, 2011

I found these shoes the other day at Sirens for a mere $30. Had to have, especially since I do not own green shoes! I really don't know how easy these things will be to walk in, so they will most likely be filed as a 'sitting shoe'. I also found a great little piece on some funky footwear found on the street by Flare.com, and thought I would share a few of my favs.

Also, you may notice some surprise guests in my photos. I have two very nosey cats. Usually I shoo them away, or crop them out. I've decided not to fight it. Everyone needs their 'thing' right. Maybe this can be mine.. cats and clothes :P
